I Can Breathe

I have always said I work better with a deadline. But, sometimes I get over-whelmed with it. Such is the case of the special quilt I have been working on recently. I wanted the top finished before my trip. I've really had to push to get it done. This is a scrap quilt called "Crayon Box" and designed by Bonnie K. Hunter. I don't have a photo of the flimsy. I was exhausted when I finished the top Friday evening. And, then I had to piece the backing. That turned out better than expected. I had debated all week whether to take it to a longarm quilter or quilt it myself. The only thing I can do is stitch-in-the ditch. But, I wanted more. And the quilt is so large, I doubted I could do it... in 12 days!

So, I made the decision to contact Chelli Wagner at Simply Beautiful Quilting. I took the top, backing, and batting to her yesterday. Glad I did. Chelli and I really hit it off. I was amazed at her quilting and her studio. We chose a varigated thread with the major colors of the quilt. It will be awesome. The best part is that when I return from my trip, all I have to do is put on the binding. Yay!!!

I am leaving Tuesday morning for Cincinnati to the NGS conference. So, I probably won't post again until I return and pick up the quilt. Yes, now I can breathe!

Good for you! Can't wait to see the finished quilt! Doesn't it just feel good to get one DONE! I also know Chelli very well - great lady and she has become a wonderful quilter! We both go to the Lebanon Piecemakers Guild that meets on 2nd Thursdays in the evening. Have fun at your conference - sending traveling angels to go with you =^..^=
