WIP Wednesday-02-26-2014

Yesterday I had an opportunity to go to Joann's in Murfreesboro, TN. I had a 50% coupon that was burning a hole in my pocketbook. It was one of those rarest of rarities when some of their quilting fabric was not on sale. I could actually use that 50% off coupon. Yay!
I picked up a nice piece for the backing of my son's Triangles of the Past wall hanging. Earlier in the week the Perle cotton thread I had ordered for this project came in the mail. It's kind of a muted orange #12, but looks really bright in this photo above. So, I am ready to begin the hand quilting. It is not my first adventure into hand quilting, but it will be my first venture into big stitch quilting with the Perle cotton. I love this video by Sarah Fielke.

This looks beautiful - - - and I know EXACTLY how those coupons in a pocket feel! And to find the fabric ISN'T on sale, so you can use the coupon?! Wahoo!!!! :) Awesome work - glad to have found you through WIP Wednesday!

Love those JoAnns coupons. I used mine yesterday to buy a yo-yo maker! Good luck with the big stitch quilting

I used to live in the boro! How cool is that :) I lived near Siegel though... so Joann's didn't see me too much! lol Did you know there is a cute LQS there too? Won't beat your coupon but she has great fabric in 44" widths :) Can;t wait to see how you big stitch this beautiful wall hanging from flimsy to done in no time at all I bet... love the colors you chose! I love hand quilting with perle cotton. It is about the only thing I hand quilt with. I can't wait to hear how it goes.
