Goodies and a Giveaway

Last week Kathy who blogs at Empty Nest But a Full Heart mentioned a fantastic deal on civil war reproduction prints fat quarters. I had never heard of the Brooklyn Fabric Company before but, I would definitely order from them again. I got 30 fat quarters of quality fabrics for $50 and free shipping. I ordered on Tuesday and they arrived 2 days later.
I may use some of these for my appliqued baskets.

Now, as I mentioned in my last post, my birthday is on Monday. Yep, this is a big one. It will be my 70th birthday. So, I thought I would have a giveaway for this event. One person will be a lucky winner of a fat quarter bundle of 34 fat quarters of shot cottons. Aren't these lovely?
Now, what do you need to do to have a chance to win? Leave me a comment on this blog post telling me what quilts are on your bucket list. You know, the ones you hope to make more than any other? The giveaway is open to International and US readers alike. It is open until 11:59 pm PT on August 31, 2015. You must make your comment on this post. Winner will be chosen by random number generator.

IMPORTANT! I must have a way to contact you. If you are a no reply blogger or a Google+ member, please leave you email in your comment. If I can not contact you, someone else will win. Don't know how to leave a comment? Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville recently posted a pretty good how-to here.

Good luck everyone!

May all your ups and downs today be with needle and thread.

Happy Birthday. I'm new to quilting, just since I retired almost two years ago so I don't have a bucket list. I came here from a link on the side of Tanya quilts in Co so I'll look around at your blog and check out your link. Looks like you got a great deal!

Happy Birthday Donna! That bundle is gorgeous. This is a tough question--I have always wanted to make a cathedral windows someday, but every time I look at how to make one I get intimidated. Enjoy your trip to San Diego. mcsdces19(at)gmail(dot)com

I've never made a quilt (although I've done a bunch of other sewing) so any quilt at all is on my bucket list! I'd love to start with a baby quilt or a t-shirt quilt.

my goodness that is a splendid give away - happy birthday to you. I have made a lot of quilts over the years so really don't have a bucket list but more of a general list of more to make. The next one up is a fancy dresden plate quilt. Karen

Happy, happy birthday!! In case I forget on Monday (which, given my memory, is entirely possible). And what a wonderful way to share the birthday celebration with us. ;-) I've wanted to try shot cottons for the longest time, so I hope I win. ;-) My bucket list contains a LOT of quilts: a basket quilt, birds in the air, single wedding ring, tumbler, EPP sampler, and bear's paw. At least those are the ones that come to mind ... see above regarding my memory (such as it is). ;-)

First things first! I wish you the best birthday ever for your 70th! May all your wishes come true and happiness follow you always!
Right now, I am working on Tula Pink's 100 modern quilt blocks and am loving it! Each one is different which keeps it interesting. I am on #46. One block that's on my to-do list is the Bear Claw. I want to make a quilt using this block for my husband's study some day. He is a bear nut, so this would suit him perfectly. Have a happy day!
