Quilt Guild Fun

Today I was at my guild's first day of a 2 day retreat. This was a first for us. We had a fantastic turn out! There are a lot of people that don't feel they can go to an over-night retreat. We have one every Spring. When your guild is large it is hard to get to know everyone. But, I was able to touch base with some more of our great members. Fun, fun, fun!

A few months ago I was very disappointed because Kim Diehl was originally to be our National teacher for this year. But, due to health problems, she cancelled. That's  when someone came up with an alternate teacher (Betty Cummings) and the day retreat. It was a winner! I go back tomorrow, too.
I rarely send a quilt to a longarmer, but I have had my dresden plate top finished for months. It is so large I finally decided to have it quilted. I picked it up yesterday and worked on the binding at the retreat. Quilts, good friends (new and old), and great food. What's not to love?

May all your ups and downs today be with needle and thread.

What a wonderful idea for a retreat - a sleep-in-your-own-bed retreat! I'd LOVE to attend one of those! No travel and probably a lot less expensive (no lodging to pay for). I do attend a one-day retreat twice a year, but one day isn't really long enough. Sewing on binding is a perfect retreat project ... it doesn't require so much focus so you can chat with your fellow retreaters.
